Registration Opens for NASA’s November 2026 Space Apps Challenge

NASA says registration is open for its 2026 Space Apps Challenge, a global collaborative event scheduled for 14 and 15 November.

Open data meets creative problem-solving

In its 15 October announcement, the agency describes a two-day hackathon built around real-world challenges and NASA’s freely available data. Participants work in teams to develop responses to problems defined by subject matter experts.

The event welcomes different ages and experience levels. NASA points to more than 500 local events and invites participants to select a challenge that interests them.

Preparing to take part

Prospective participants should use the official registration information to confirm local arrangements. The global dates alone do not establish the location, schedule or availability of an event in a particular city.

As a practical preparation exercise, a team could write down one problem it wants to understand and the skills each member wants to contribute. A clear question and a manageable goal can give a short collaboration a useful starting point.
